Bridges project

For the last couple of weeks Zanthe and i have been working to make a bridge out of popstical sticks. This is our process.

Friday, 18 March 2016

This week I think my biggest achievement was my SRA cards this week alone I have completed 9 SRA cards and got 100% on all of them therefore moving up 3 levels. I think my biggest challenge was our bridges this week having to design and learn about the structure of some bridges preparing to make our on bridge out of Popsicle sticks. Next week I am looking forward to lunch time soft ball we are in the finals. I really enjoyed Harold we learnt about how drugs affect us and our bodies.

This week  I found making  a tree diagram my biggest challenge. I overcame this challenge by listening to the teachers and others. Next time I do a tree diagram I will use a ruler.I had lots of fun doing film skills because I had to act and design a short clip using the disappearing act, this is in a previous post.  I think I excelled at my SRA cards getting four stamps and moving up one set. I learnt lots of things this week including a summary. I am excited for our Mountain Biking  competition that is happening next week.
This is a tree digram.

Disappearing Act

Disappearing act part  two.Today we had another try for disappearing act for tech wise.

My fair inquiry reflection

For our inquiry this term, we had to work together to create a fair stall. the focus was how well we worked together with others.

On the night of the fair, my fair stall made a total profit of $121 I think this went well because we had a line most of the time, we did not have to buy any thing so the set up was free and our back drop was very attractive.

Below are my reflection and a self reflection of how I think I did...
My name: Jay
Other members in my group: Callum marnie madi ben
Our fair stall: toilet toss

Reflection (What went well today? What do I need to do better? What do we need to focus on tomorrow? How could my team work more effectively together next time?): I think we worked well today everyone had something to say and now everyone has a job. We have made a mind map to guide us through this project.

Reflection (What went well today? What do I need to do better? What do we need to focus on tomorrow? How could my team work more effectively together next time?):  Today I don't think we worked very well as a group as there was lots of confusion and not much achieved. Although we still got some important information put on paper.

To the Summit
Hearing the students before me, listening to their excitement. Knowing that it's not far now my determination kicked in, my feet started to move. Faster, longer strides. No control. I was going to get there. The jaw-dropping sights came to me the white fluffy, candyfloss clouds right before my eyes, blue waters in the distance with monstrous rocks greeting us. The tremendous feelings filled my body. Something my eyes had never seen. Nothing I had ever felt. Relief as I made my last step. I made it to the summit.

Empty head.  No words to describe the feeling. Time for lunch, although I was not hungry, at least I thought. I felt like an ant that had just climbed a massive rock. Time to leave. Nervousness excitement yet  readiness to descend as I took one last blink at the summit.
 Weekly Reflection:

This week we have been working towards the fair (I am in the toilet toss group)  and I have been busy working with my group to get our stall ready including lots of painting, planing, negotiating and lots of working together.
This week we have had PAT tests It has been a lot more than I am used to, but I think I handled them well.
This week I have finished my spelling and found what list I am starting on I am happy with where I am starting because it is the same list as where I finished last year I am on list N.
